Craig Jelks is a distinguished educator with over 18 years of experience inspiring students at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Known for his motivational and engaging teaching style, Mr. Jelks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University and a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University, with additional studies at the University of Oxford.

Throughout his career, Mr. Jelks has earned numerous honors, including Kershaw County School District Teacher of the Year (2016) and Mountain Brook City Schools Secondary District Teacher of the Year (2023). He was also nominated for the National History Teacher of the Year Award in 2019. Moreover, Mr. Jelks has served as a mentor-teacher, team leader, and committee chair focused on school culture and climate.
